The Coach's Advice

Stop loading your disc with your phone's regular LED flashlight. This is the classic beginner's mistake. Ordinary white light does not properly excite the phosphorescent molecules in plastic; your disc will glow dimly and turn off before it even hits the ground, which is the perfect recipe for losing your disc in total darkness. Invest in a small 395nm UV flashlight. Two seconds on each side of the disc on the tee pad with that, and your plastic will flash like a Las Vegas sign. Oh, and one last pro tip: when you throw at night, never take your eyes off the disc until it stops on the ground, and walks directly towards the glow without loitering. If you turn on your normal white headlamp while you walk, you will destroy your nighttime visual acuity and that of your map partners.
