Pickleball - Starter Sets

Jump on the court tomorrow with our pickleball sets to get started

We're not going to lie: pickleball looks really easy when you watch others play at the local park. But as soon as you get on the court with a low-end wooden racket bought in a supermarket, you quickly realize that the ball flies everywhere, that your wrists hurt after twenty minutes, and that you spend your time picking up balls instead of placing your dinks. Starting sport is no reason to play with poor quality equipment. At Nation Sport, we have assembled starter kits that make no compromises: real stock that is light, easy to handle, which forgives early technical errors and which instantly makes you look like a player who knows what he is doing.

Everything you need to survive your first game

We've stripped away all the complex jargon to give you the essentials in one package. Here's what our starter sets contain:

  • The expanded sweet spot: Our beginner rackets (often made of fiberglass composite) have a larger striking surface. Even if you don't hit the ball perfectly in the middle, it will still go through the net instead of dying at your feet.

  • Weight control: No more wooden rackets that weigh a ton. Our entry-level models weigh around 7.8 ounces, which protects your elbow (the famous tennis elbow) and gives you enough reaction speed at the net.

  • The complete pack: You receive two or four rackets, protective covers to prevent scratches in the trunk of the tank, and a set of approved balls so you don't have to beg for equipment from court neighbors.

Why choose your starter kit from Nation Sport?

Because we won't let you leave with a box without explaining to you how it works. Our entire inventory of beginner sets is physically stored in our warehouse in Boucherville. To maximize your experience and reach our performance goal (and save on shipping costs), take the opportunity to add the beginner's essentials to your basket: a cap or visor to block the late afternoon sun, and above all, a ribbon racket edge protector. When we start, we often scrape the asphalt wanting to save the low balls; This little $5 addition will double the life of your new racket.

💡 The Coach's Advice

The classic mistake to avoid: When you unpack your kit and jump on the court for the first time, forget the tennis reflex of wanting to hit the ball as hard as possible. In pickleball, power without control is your worst enemy. Stay relaxed on your grip (think pressure 4 out of 10). The majority of points for beginners are lost because you hit too hard into the net or off the baselines. Just focus on returning the ball smoothly to the center of the opponent's court and let the mistakes come from the other side.
