Swimming - Swimming cap

From classic silicone to models for long hair

A swimming cap is not just to respect the regulations of the municipal swimming pool. It is a major piece of technical equipment. If your cap goes up by itself during your crawl series, if it destroys your head by tightening it or if it tears out half of your hair when you take it off, you don't have the right model. At Nation Sport, we forget about cheap caps that soak up water and slow down your flow. We have selected high-quality silicone caps and specialized models that stay screwed on your head, protect your hair from harsh chlorine and cut the drag in the water to make you slide faster.

In our warehouse in Boucherville, we keep a complete inventory of the giants of the pool – Arena, Speedo, Finz – available for all heads and all disciplines here in Quebec.

  • 100% Silicone caps: The number one choice for regular training. Silicone is ultra-stretchy, chlorine resistant, and provides a smooth surface that glides seamlessly through water. Unlike latex, it does not stick to itself and lasts for years if taken care of.

  • Smartcap and Long Hair Models: Specially designed for swimmers with volume. These caps provide extra space in the back to accommodate a bun or braids without creating unbearable pressure on the forehead or forcing the caps to slide up.

  • Build your hallway kit: A swimming cap   is always accompanied by a good pair of glasses. Now is the perfect time to add adjustable anti-fog goggles or a ventilated carrying pouch to protect your lenses from scratches in the bottom of your bag.

💡 Coach's Tip: The Two Hands and Powder Trick The classic mistake that causes a brand new silicone swim cap to split is to pull it apart by pulling on the edges with your fingertips (and nails). To put it on safely and painlessly: cup your two hands together, slide them inside the cap, palms facing each other, and spread your forearms to stretch the silicone. Dip your forehead first, then swing the cap toward the back of your head in one smooth motion. Oh, and another pro tip: if your helmet is difficult to put on or sticks after drying, sprinkle a tiny bit of baby powder (talcum powder) inside before storing it. It will fit like a charm at your next session.
